What is your favorite class to do together and why?
Laura: My mom and I love doing the barre beginner classes together because this particular class focuses specifically on muscle toning and strengthening. Though I love cardio classes as well, barre beginner classes reinforce the basics and fine tunes all the muscles you sometimes forget you even have!! As barre beginner classes are perfect for women of any age, I strongly recommend these to any mother-daughter duo looking for a place to start!!
Ashley: I love Barre Beginner classes because it is a nice pace but yet challenges us in different ways. Plus it’s easier to modify if need be so every level can participate and be challenged in different ways.
Why is it important/special for you to spend this time together through health/fitness?
Laura: Health and fitness is important for individuals of all ages and stages. For mom and I, working out together enables us to spend quality time together while simultaneously getting fit and transforming our bodies to better ourselves. Our lives are extremely busy and sometimes it is hard to reserve time together. B.You has given us the opportunity to spend time together while also enhancing our health and wellness.
Ashley: It’s really awesome to see your mom or MIL be a role model of implementing a healthy lifestyle such as staying in shape! As many of you know I love hanging out with her and this is just one more thing that we love to do together. Plus it’s a great conversation over wine when we catch up at dinner!
What recommendation would you give to other moms/daughters on how to spend similar time together, if even not specifically working out together?
Laura: Working out as a mother-daughter team not only promotes accountability and commitment, it also enables you to bond and spend quality time together. It is so easy to send a voicemail or text message (we are all guilty of this), but being physically present fosters a closer relationship. Being surrounding by a positive and supportive environment enables you to meet your fitness goals, especially when you are surrounded by the ones you love the most! Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
